Five Stages.

  • Facilitate knowledge and competence via capacity building and skill development
  • Foster a strong reading and personality development ecosystem
  • Enable access to leadership, employment and entrepreneurship
  • Foster sustainable culture in people towards environment, cities and villages
  • Promote art, culture and sports

Our Origin

Sehar Foundation evolved as a reaction to the frequent lockdowns in Kashmir due to which younger people got alienated from mainstream education. The idea of establishing ‘community libraries’ in villages in Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh will serve as continuous engaging community institutions that will help the younger generation to read, write, develop new skills and personality traits. Our recipe for success is hard work, ample laughter, and mutual respect. These ingredients allow us to innovate and scale at a remarkable pace, assuring our donors/partners that their funds are in the best of hands.

  Ehsaas Project – MHM
  • EHSAS is a complete menstrual health management program. Menstrual hygiene is just not a women's issue but an issue of girl-child health, of education, of more profitable and better business practice, of income-generation, of growth, of sustainability. It is appalling that a natural biological process that ought to be celebrated as a sign of a healthy transition into adulthood is holding back millions of girls and women from achieving their full potential across the globe. Persistent differences in women's health, education and economic participation can only be detrimental to India's growth.Investing in menstrual health and hygiene will ensure that millions of girls stay in school and live dignified and healthy lives.
In 2011,UN Women estimated that giving girls and women more opportunities has the potential to boost the country's economic growth rate by as much as 4 percentage points.' Fortunately, several stakeholders in India are waking up to this reality and menstrual management has garnered substantial attention in the last decade. It is critical to leverage the current focus of the state and non-state actors to push the menstrual management agenda to the next level in Jammu and Kashmir which is still far from the national average in this domain. This can be achieved by working collectively and making comprehensive plans and implementing them. EHSAS project adopts ‘circular approach’ in menstrual health management from planning to implementation and from implementation to further planning in Jammu and Kashmir.
